Photo of Kseniya Paiva Proenca

I am currently a PhD student working in the speech group, KU Leuven, Belgium , under the supervision of Prof. Dirk Van Compernolle. My work focus on example based speech recognition.

I finished my master in 2009 in the State University of Petrozavodzk (PetrSU), Russia, in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. I worked on projects about image analysis and recognition (on the example of petroglyphs), and started my PhD in October 2010.

I participated and was awarded in numerous junior research competitions: ESE-2002 (Slovakia), EUCYS-2003 (Hungary), ESE-2006 (Spain), ESM-2006 (Malta), Contest "Young. Daring. Perspective." 2006 (Russia), NTTM-2007 (Russia). I was also awarded Google's scholarship Anita Borg in 2008, spent in Switzerland. I was organizing the 3rd Russian Summer School in Information Retrieval 2009 (concluding treaties, organization of cultural program, working with lecturers, working with funds), Petrozavodsk State University, Russia. I am also a member of organization committee for Russian Summer School in Information Retrieval 2010-2015, Russia
